Harris Tweed

Look what arrived in to post for me today. Some genuine Harris Tweed trimmings from the Isle of Harris . I have been trying to get my hands on some for ages after watching a BBC4 series on the re birth of the Harris Tweed weaving industry over the last few years. Now I have lots of little bits to stoke and play with .

Nuno Felted Samples

I have been creating a selection of Nuno felt sample backgrounds ready for an embroidery workshop . The orange and blue version has been worked using hand dyed silk mousseline whilst the other two have a hand dyed cotton scrim base. Normally I would leave these as they are if I was creating a scarf for example but as they are to be used as part of an embroidery workshop I need to add some stitch ( and no doubt a bead or two )to the surface .

This was my contribution to the Stitch -in- 9 group Christmas post card swap . It was great fun . Hopefully we can get them all togeher at our next meeting later this month .
